The Dome Performance Centre... home to Middlesex badminton!

Yes, we are now an accredited Performance Centre and looking forward to producing even more players for England. Our junior training has already begun and we are looking to develop players, from an early age, with the help of Mervin Gibbs, Daryl Jacobs, Lorraine Lancaster, and a structured coaching programme monitored by Nobby Soans.

What does this mean for the HBA?... As a nationally recognised facility, we should be drawing the attention of groups and organisations wanting to use the building during the daytime. We will be able to pay our coaches who coach on the programme. We have already started a club for players with disabilities and there will be a revised tournament/competition structure in place for the late spring.

As we get nearer to 2012, we should be drawing the attention of individuals and smaller delegations who want to use the Dome for training, not to mention being able to run taster sessions with some of the country's top coaches or watch some of the National squad in action.

These are exciting times and none of it would have been possible without the foresight of the first HBA committee. Their dream has come true!
